Juneau Christian Center will celebrate its 100th anniversary this fall. The church, which is the oldest Assembly of God church in Alaska, will host a three-day event at their Glacier Highway facility Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 to honor the past and share a vision for the future.
JCC will host a banquet Friday night 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. They will hold a service Saturday evening at 6 p.m. and a Sunday service at 10:30 a.m.
AnnaLee Conti, granddaughter of the church’s founders, will be a keynote speaker. She will share stories from her book, “Frontiers of Faith,” which outlines the lives of Charles and Florence Personeus, pioneer missionaries to Alaska from 1917 to 1982. Other special guests include Pastor Callie Shipp from Baytown, Texas and visitors from across the state.
Mike and Deenie Rose have been senior pastors of Juneau Christian Center since 1987. The church houses the HUB Youth Center’s After School Program for middle schoolers and Juneau Christian Preschool.
Juneau Christian Center is located at 8001 Glacier Highway, across the street from Fred Meyer.
