An article that published Monday titled “Nothing but dinner: Seaweed on the plate,” did not mention regulations on collecting seaweed. Fish and Game regulations do not allow for the harvesting of seaweed in non-subsistence areas, which include many areas near Juneau and Ketchikan.Those with questions should contact F&G at 465-4250. The collecting of detached seaweed for home gardens from the high tideline is permitted.
