The U.S. Coast Guard is asking mariners for their opinions on Gastineau Channel.
Coast Guard Sector Juneau has created an online survey to judge how well the channel’s navigational aids are working, how frequently the channel is used, and whether changes need to be made. The survey was listed in the Coast Guard’s weekly Notice to Mariners document.
Todd Buck, of Coast Guard District 17’s waterways division, said the survey is part of a regular consultation process the Coast Guard does with mariners on all waterways every five to 10 years.
