The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued a cruise ship passenger suffering from internal bleeding, the agency reported Wednesday.
Petty Officer 1st Class Kelly Parker said by email that a Coast Guard Station Juneau boat crew performed the rescue on Tuesday evening.
The Celebrity Solstice radioed for help on Tuesday, reporting a 55-year-old man suffering from internal bleeding. The Coast Guard’s duty flight surgeon recommended a medevac.
The station’s crew transferred the man from the Celebrity Solstice and delivered him to Auke Bay and an ambulance crew there.
