A motor vehicle collided with a 62-year-old man on Glacier Avenue on Tuesday, resulting in a possible broken leg for the pedestrian, according to a Juneau Police Department release.
At 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, JPD received a report of the collision on Glacier Avenue and West 9th street. Rachel White, 78, was driving her 2010 Toyota Corolla outbound on Glacier Highway, approaching West 9th Street, when she struck the unnamed pedestrian in a crosswalk, an investigation showed.
Both JPD and Capital City Fire and Rescue responded, and the pedestrian was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital and treated for injuries. The man is believed to have broken a leg, police say.
White was given a citation for failure to exercise due care to avoid colliding with a pedestrian.
