People will be screaming for ice cream at Coppa from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, April 28.
According to a release, co-owners Marc Wheeler and Jessica Paris announced the cafe will be holding its fourth annual Free Ice Cream Day.
The store will close its registers during this time and give out free regular scoops of its ice cream and sorbet. No coffee or food items will be for sale during the celebration to allow staff to hand out as much ice cream as possible.
Coppa has held the same event for the previous three years and last year scooped more than 30 gallons of ice cream. This year’s event will help Aiding Women in Abuse and Rape Emergencies (AWARE) as all tips will be donated to the nonprofit.
“We are grateful to Coppa for recognizing AWARE’s work and the needs of survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and choosing to donate the tips they receive at free ice cream day to AWARE,” Saralyn Tabachnick, AWARE’s Executive Director, said. “Community partnerships like this bring an instant smile to my face.”
