• In the police blotter published in the Empire on Thursday, Sept. 17, the Juneau Empire erroneously stated that two people were arrested on Egan Drive for threatening a man and throwing him into the water. The people were arrested for threatening a man, and threatening to throw him into the water. The Empire regrets the error.
• A story in the Friday, Sept. 18 issue of the Juneau Empire misquoted former school board member Sally Saddler. The story asserted Saddler said only 35 to 45 percent students in the Juneau School District were reading and writing competent. She later clarified she meant to say 35 to 40 percent of students were not reading and writing competent. The online version of the story has been amended to reflect this.
