In an article in the Neighbors section last Sunday, the Empire reported that conservator and museum consultant David Harvey was brought to Juneau by a grant from the Juneau-Douglas City Museum. He actually was brought to the City Museum through a collections management grant by Museums Alaska and a grant through the Rasmuson Foundation to perform a collections assessment on a portion of the City Museum’s historic iron tool collection. While in town, he gave a public lecture on paranormal investigations in museums and historic sites since he has also been a paranormal researcher and consultant.
The Empire also reported that Renee Hughes was the co-owner of the Last Chance Mining Museum. She’s the co-caretaker; the mining museum’s collection is owned by the City and Borough of Juneau.
