RUSSIAN MISSION — Bodies have been recovered from crash sites of two planes involved in a mid-air collision.
KTUU-TV reported the bodies will go to the state medical examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsies.
The Wednesday collision killed four Alaskans and a Montana man.
Alaska State Troopers finished body recovery efforts Friday.
National Transportation Safety Board regional chief Clint Johnson said the wreckage area was difficult to access.
He said plane parts are being transported from the crash sites so that investigators can start piecing the aircrafts back together.
