The Juneau Crime Line is seeking the public’s help in recovering a stash of firearms stolen from a storage unit.
On April 8, the Juneau Police Department received a report of a burglary that occurred at the storage units in the 5400 block of Commercial Boulevard. The owners of the unit came to JPD to report that they went to the storage facility to make sure the unit they rented had not been broken into, said JPD Lt. Scott Erickson in a press release. However, they found that their unit had been broken into and seven firearms and two gun safes were stolen.
The firearms were described as being special engraved weapons and standard rifles and pistols in varied calibers, Erickson wrote. The total value of firearms and safes had an estimated value of more than $2,500.
Anyone with information is encouraged to log on to the Juneau Crime Line Web site and report their tip. You may also call JPD at 500-0600. You may be eligible for a reward.
