Dan Moller Trail closed Friday

Dan Moller Trail will be closed for part of this morning as the Juneau Snowmobile Club performs maintenance on the popular Douglas Island route.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, the club will use a helicopter to transport gravel from the trailhead parking lot to a section of the trail just above the Treadwell Ditch Trail.

The work will begin about 10 a.m. and continue for about an hour and a half.

The Forest Service says hikers should expect delays.

The gravel will be used to harden a muddy 115-foot section of trail.
