A dead body was discovered in the Mendenhall wetlands Sunday evening, according to Juneau police.
Juneau Police Department Sgt. Shawn Phelps said the body was somewhere near the Lemon Creek bridge, but details about age or gender have not been released.
Signs of foul play were not immediately apparent but the investigation is ongoing, according to a JPD statement. Police have not yet contacted the deceased’s family.
Phelps did not immediately respond to requests by the Empire for more information.
