Dan DeBartolo and Steve Whitney both secured seats on the Juneau Board of Education in the least competitive race of the night — other than District 2 Assembly race in which Beth Weldon ran unopposed.
DeBartolo won 31.4 percent of the vote, and Whitney won 28.1 percent. Jason Hart, who was running for the school board for the second consecutive year, finished third with nearly 21 percent of the vote. Kevin Allen, a recent graduate of Thunder Mountain High School, finished with almost 19 percent of the vote.
Neither DeBartolo nor Whitney were at Election Central to watch the results come in Tuesday night.
DeBartolo works as the director of administrative services for the Alaska Department of Revenue. Whitney works as fisheries manager for the National Marine Fisheries Service.
