Democratic candidate Ed Cullinane has withdrawn from his Anchorage campaign for a seat in the Alaska House.
Cullinane, in a statement emailed to reporters Wednesday night, said “personal health issues have made continuing this particular race impossible.”
Cullinane had been running against independent Jason Grenn and incumbent Republican Rep. Liz Vazquez in House District 22, which represents the Anchorage neighborhood of Sand Lake.
Cullinane’s withdrawal leaves Vazquez facing only an independent candidate in November’s general election.
