Black Friday is always a chaotic day of searching for deals, and shoppers will need sustenance.
Starting at 8 a.m. Friday, many downtown businesses will offer free donuts for shoppers who want to get their day started early, as part of the Downtown Business Association’s Donuts & Deals Black Fry-Day Shopping Event. More than a dozen businesses on Franklin, Front and Seward streets are participating, offering deals to eager shoppers while the donuts put the “fry” in “Fry-Day.”
The event is the first of many for the DBA this holiday season.
The DBA is sponsoring a new event this year on Dec. 16 called Kids’ Day Downtown, where downtown businesses will have kid-friendly shopping sections that cater to the needs and budgets of children.
From Dec. 17-24, participating shops will extend their hours and help people with last-minute shopping needs as part of the “A Gift in Hand is Worth Two on the Way” event.
