A 31-year-old ended up in the hospital with multiple stab wounds early Saturday morning, and a suspect is in custody.
At 1:45 a.m. Saturday, the Juneau Police Department responded to the report of a disturbance in the 100 block of South Franklin Street and found a man, 31, who had multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital and was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries, according to a JPD news release Saturday.
Officers arrested Carl Liberty Jr., 27, for second-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence. Liberty was then taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Second-degree assault is a class B felony, while tampering with physical evidence is a class C felony.
The stabbing was the third in a 10-day span in Juneau. Lucas Schneider, 39, was arrested for a Jan. 4 stabbing downtown and an arrest has yet to be made in connection with a Jan. 5 stabbing on Douglas Island.
