ANCHORAGE — A 50-year-old Anchorage man was shot by his own gun as he hunted in Southeast Alaska.
Alaska State Troopers said the man was hunting for ducks Wednesday afternoon near Thorne Bay on Prince of Wales Island.
He slipped on rocks and dropped his semi-automatic shotgun.
The shotgun hit the ground and fired. The shot struck the hunter in the face.
The man, whose name was not released, was treated at Alicia Roberts Medical Clinic in Klawock and released.
