Eaglecrest Ski Area will open for its winter season this weekend after getting “a little help from Mother Nature” during the past week, according to Eaglecrest officials.
Thanks to the latest stint of cold weather, the ski area will open the bunny hill — Porcupine Chair — from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Hooter, Ptarmigan and Black Bear chairs will all remain closed along with the Nordic trails, according to a ski area press release.
Eaglecrest will also be opening Mountain Lift, a coffee stand, and its Snowsport School and rental/repair shop.
Lift tickets will cost $15 for adults and $10 for children.
Matt Lillard, the ski area’s manager, will be providing an Eaglecrest update at Thursday’s Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
Lillard will begin speaking at noon in the Moose Lodge. Tickets cost $20 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
