ANCHORAGE — If economic development is your profession, odds are you are in Anchorage this week.
The International Economic Development Council is holding its annual meeting in the state’s largest city. Organizers say more than 1,300 people are expected to attend sessions that go through Wednesday.
The organization’s president, Jeffrey Finkle, tells Anchorage television station KTVA members attempt to retain and create jobs in the communities where they live.
The event is expected to generate $2 million to the Anchorage-area economy.
Among the keynote speakers will be Alaska Gov. Bill Walker.
