Election 2024: Watch the Juneau Municipal Candidate Forum for Juneau School Board

Six candidates seeking three seats in Oct. 1 election participate in televised forum Wednesday.

The six candidates seeking three seats on the Juneau Board of Education in the Oct. 1 municipal election took part in a one-hour forum Wednesday night at the KTOO studio. Issues discussed included assessment test scores, teenage suicide, postsecondary readiness, social media and cell phone use by students, school libraries, and financial oversight.

The forum was sponsored by sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Juneau, the Juneau Empire and KTOO which broadcast the event live. A similar forum featuring Juneau Assembly and mayoral candidates took place Tuesday.
