Facebook bans gun sales

The Juneau Firearms Buy-Sell-Trade Facebook page is in for a change.

Facebook announced Friday that it will no longer allow private or person-to-person gun sales, according to the New York Times and several other media outlets.

The gun sale ban will not apply to gun sales posts made by licensed gun dealers. But the majority of posts in the Juneau firearm selling forum are sold privately.

Juneau Firearms Buy-Sell-Trade currently has almost 1,800 members. People also frequently sell guns using the Juneau Buy-Sell-Trade Facebook page.
