Faith Lutheran Church welcomes new pastor

Rev. Aaron Spratt has spent more than 20 years with the United States Navy, living all over the country. Now, he’s coming to Juneau as the new pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in the Mendenhall Valley.

Spratt, originally from Anderson, Indiana, enlisted in the Navy when he was in high school, serving as a weatherman before taking to the skies as an aviator for the Navy. He plans on retiring from the service this September after a career of more than two decades.

This Friday, Jan. 5, Faith Lutheran Church will welcome Spratt as its new pastor with a Service of Installation at 5:30 p.m. There will be a reception afterward where people can get to know Spratt, his wife Amanda and their five sons.

In addition to being pastor at Faith Lutheran Church, Spratt will also work with Alaska Mission for Christ.

Spratt attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and is a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Flight school took him to Florida and Texas, and his career led him to Rhode Island, California, Florida, Washington and other places.
