Alaska State Troopers are investigating a series of scam calls received by Juneau residents since Friday.
The calls claim to be from an Alaska State Trooper who says the person receiving the call has an outstanding arrest warrant. The caller says the recipient should pay their bail with a “verification voucher” from Fred Meyer.
Troopers Sgt. Matthew Hightower said several scam calls have been reported to troopers — including at least one on Monday — and anyone who receives one should contact Troopers at 465-4006.
Hightower said Troopers are investigating the calls but have not made any arrests yet — and no one should be worried about outstanding warrants.
