Capital City Fire/Rescue firefighters were called out to the Governor’s House Sunday night for a possible carbon monoxide leak, but did not find any dangerous emissions.
Firefighters responded to the mansion on Calhoun Avenue at 8:45 p.m. for an active alarm, according to CCFR logs. Upon arrival, units tested the air with a gas meter and found no danger.
Upon further investigation, it reportedly was discovered that several CO detectors in the mansion were 10 years old. According to Consumer Reports, most carbon-monoxide alarms are backed by a five- to seven-year warranty.
