Fire and medical
• On Saturday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to a vehicle accident with injuries on Glacier Highway at 1:03 a.m. CCFR responded to eight other EMS calls. CCFR also responded to a fire alarm at a building structure, but there was no fire.
• On Sunday, CCFR responded to a fire alarm that was sounded due to cooking. A complaint came in at 3:33 p.m. for unauthorized burning on Ptarmigan Street. When CCFR responded, the person responsible immediately extinguished the fire. At 5:26 p.m., CCFR responded to a reported open burn in the Dredge Lake trail system. Personnel extinguished an unattended camp fire. At 8:26 p.m., CCFR responded to a fire alarm at a building structure on Franklin Street. Personnel found a five-gallon bucket with burning towels that had an oily substance on them, extinguished the fire and ventilated the building. CCFR also responded to eight EMS calls throughout the day.
