AKIACHAK — A 76-year-old woman died over the weekend of injuries suffered when she was struck by a four-wheeler in her southwest Alaska village.
Alaska State Troopers say Ruth Lomack of Akiachak was struck by an all-terrain vehicle driven by 25-year-old Katherine Noatak just before midnight Friday.
Lomack was pronounced dead at the Akiachak clinic.
Noatak was injured and transported by a medevac flight to a Bethel hospital for treatment.
Troopers were notified of the crash Saturday. Investigators say alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
Akiachak is a village of 700 on the Kuskokwim River about 18 miles northeast of Bethel.
