Free skate brings costumes to the rink

The forecast for Halloween weekend is a little icy for some.

The 16th annual Halloween Open Skate is taking place at 7:45 p.m. Friday at Treadwell Arena. People can come for free, and are encouraged to wear costumes. There will be prizes for the best ones.

Juneau Pediatric Dentistry is sponsoring the event, which is expected to last until 9:15 p.m. The event is co-hosted by Treadwell Arena and the City and Borough of Juneau’s Parks and Recreation Department. There will be hot chocolate and music.
