KETCHIKAN— Law enforcement officers with the Alaska State Troopers and Ketchikan Police Department arrested a fugitive from Washington state early Sunday morning.
The suspect, a 31-year-old man, was contacted by officers on board the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry Malaspina when the vessel arrived in Ketchikan, according to an online trooper dispatch.
The ferry was scheduled to arrive in Ketchikan at 7 a.m. Sunday on its way north from Bellingham, Washington, according to the AMHS.
An investigation revealed that the suspect had an extraditable arrest warrant from Washington on original charges of robbery and escape, according to the dispatch.
The man was arrested and transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center.
