ANCHORAGE — A grand jury has indicted an Anchorage man suspected of a fatal hit-and-run crash.
The grand jury Thursday indicted 20-year-old Quinton Molinar on counts of second-degree murder, manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and evidence tampering in the death of 71-year-old pedestrian James Hawke.
Molinar previously had been charged with manslaughter.
The grand jury also indicted 70-year-old Juana Molinar and 21-year-old Louise Duron-Smith on tampering counts. Prosecutors say they may have assisted Molinar with removing and concealing evidence.
Hawke just after 5:30 a.m. Sept. 5 was found dead at the Seward Highway and Northern Lights Boulevard.
Witnesses told police that a driver struck Hawke, pulled him off his car and sped away.
Molinar turned himself in a day after Hawke’s death and remains in custody.
