The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is preparing to renew the air quality control permit for the Greens Creek silver and gold mine on Admiralty Island.
In a public notice, ADEC said anyone wishing to comment on the mine’s operating permit may email brittany.crutchfield@alaska.gov by Dec. 28.
Mine operations are expected to emit 837 tons of regulated air pollution each year.
A final permit decision will be made after the public comment period closes.
