DENALI NATIONAL PARK — A missing hiker has been found in good condition after a two-day search at Denali National Park and Preserve.
A helicopter crew spotted the 42-year-old hiker Sunday night about six miles from where he was last seen Friday.
Park officials identified him as Mukunda Egen from California, who is seasonally employed in the area. No hometown was given.
The park said in a release that he was transported to park headquarters.
Egen and a friend started a day hike Friday afternoon from the Teklanika Campground.
They separated and then lost sight of each other in foggy conditions.
Egen’s companion searched and didn’t return to the campground until 4 a.m. Saturday, when park rangers were notified.
A search began later that morning that involved more than 50 people, including ground teams, two helicopters and two rescue dogs.
