A local nonprofit is hosting a holiday pet food drive to collect dog and cat food.
The pet food drive hosted by The Grateful Dogs of Juneau will take place Monday, Dec. 12 through Saturday, Dec. 18. All donations benefit the Southeast Alaska Food Bank.
Collection boxes can be found at the following businesses: Foodland IGA, Rainbow Foods, Pet Nanny’s Place, Southeast Alaska Animal Medical Center, Juneau Animal Hospital, Super Bear SuperMarket, Carrs/Safeway, Canines Unlimited, Tongass Veterinary Services, Heritage Coffee Shop/Café on Mendenhall Mall Road, Curves and Doggie Do’s Grooming & Pet Sitting.
Last year, Grateful Dogs collected 1,006 pounds of food during the annual drive. Seventy-two percent of that was dog food and 28 percent was cat food.
