ANCHORAGE — Police in Homer have seized more than a thousand marijuana plants with an estimated street value of more than $1 million from a grow operation.
Police in a news release said they served a warrant Friday at a home off East End Road about three miles northeast of the Homer Spit.
They found 1,012 rooted marijuana plants. The plants and 59 lights were seized.
Police say 32-year-old Joseph Gabryzak arrived as the warrant was served.
He’s charged with three felony drug counts, including possession of more than 25 marijuana plants and maintaining a building used for keeping controlled substances.
Defense attorney Evan Barrickman says he has no comment on the pending case.
Gabryzak is jailed at Wildwood Correction Center in Kenai and scheduled for a bail hearing Friday in Homer.
