Juneau’s candidates for statehouse will face each other on the stage tonight at the University of Alaska Southeast in a debate hosted by KTOO-FM, Juneau Votes and the Juneau Empire.
The debate, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Egan Lecture Hall, will feature Republican Rep. Cathy Muñoz and her Democratic challenger in House District 34, Justin Parish.
Rep. Sam Kito III, the Democrat who represents downtown Juneau in House District 33, will also appear, but he faces no challenger in the general election.
The debate moderators, James Brooks of the Empire and Matt Miller of KTOO, will ask the candidates a series of questions before opening the discussion to questions from the audience.
The debate is scheduled to last one hour, and proceedings will be recorded for later broadcast.
The event is free to attend, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
Early voting opens Oct. 24, and Election Day is Nov. 8.
