ANCHORAGE — A 37-year-old inmate has died following an apparent suicide attempt.
The Alaska Department of Corrections says in a release that Kristoffer Reuer died Monday afternoon at Alaska Regional Center in Anchorage.
He was found unresponsive in his cell in Anchorage on Friday.
Department of Corrections spokesman Corey Allen-Young says Reuer was an inmate at Anchorage Correctional Complex.
The state says Reuer was a federal inmate whose had been held since Nov. 15 on drug conspiracy charges.
He’s the 10th inmate to die in custody this year. Both internal and external investigation will be conducted, per department policy.
