Just an hour after releasing an appeal to the public for help in locating a wanted felon, Juneau Police Department officers arrested Christopher Wesley Davison Friday morning and took him into custody without incident.
The timing was coincidental, said Lt. Kris Sell, but she added that it was a tip from a member of the public that led officers to Davison.
Davison, 33, had a $2,500 warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on a charge of rioting and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with an October 2015 riot at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
JPD had received reports that Davison has recently been armed and aggressive with people he has approached, Sell said in a press release. JPD has multiple open cases where Davison is a person of interest; one of those was for allegedly discharging a firearm in Switzer Village mobile home park in mid-February, and another was for an unrelated assault.
Also on Friday, Juneau Police Department officers arrested Christopher Lee Quick, 41, on several outstanding warrants.
Officers went to conduct a welfare check on a person at a residence in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway and found Quick there, arresting him for two warrants issued in November 2016.
Quick had a warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation on an original charge of second-degree burglary and a warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation on an original charge of robbery and third-degree assault, for a total of $20,000.
