The Juneau Police Department is auctioning off more than 50 impounded vehicles this month, with vehicles ranging from a 1969 motorhome to cars made in the past 10 years.

The auction, which happens twice a year, will take place at 10 a.m. April 21, but there will be an advance viewing on Wednesday, April 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both the viewing and the auction will take place at 9390 La Perouse Avenue, just off Berners Avenue near the Juneau International Airport.

A full list of cars is available on the JPD website.

Bidder registration begins at 9 a.m. April 21 and the auction will begin promptly at 10 a.m. To be registered, attendees must be 18 years old, have a photo ID and provide their name, address and phone number. Upon registering, bidders will receive a bidder number. These numbers cannot be shared, and to participate in the auction, you must have your own bidder number.

All items must be paid for immediately after the sale of the item unless the bidder is bidding on the next item as well. JPD accepts cash, certified checks, cashiers checks or personal checks with sufficient identification. Buyers will receive a Bill of Sale when they pay.

Purchased vehicles must be removed by 4 p.m. Saturday, otherwise the cars and the amount paid for them will be forfeited. Any additional questions beforehand should be directed to JPD at 586-0600.
