Don’t be alarmed if you hear noise coming from the federal building Monday night.
The General Services Administration has announced that it will test fire alarms from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday at the Hurff Ackerman Saunders Federal Building in the Juneau Flats.
Previous testing has been audible throughout the surrounding neighborhood, and the flashing lights that accompany the testing are visible from across the city.
Exterior fire alarms will be tested for 15-30 minutes starting at 6 p.m. and will be the most noticable. Interior fire alarms will be tested later in the evening and night.
If needed, testing will continue Tuesday night, starting at 6 p.m.
GSA, which maintains the federal building, announced the testing last week in an emailed statement and apologizes for the noise.
