Alaska Department of Health and Social Services confirmed Juneau’s third case of COVID-19 Thursday, according to City and Borough of Juneau.
The person was in close contact with a previously confirmed COVID-19 case, according to CBJ, and the city is coordinating closely with DHSS.
“Including the Juneau case, there are 10 new cases reporting in Alaska today bringing the statewide total to 69,” said CBJ emergency operations center incident commander Mila Cosgrove during a special Assembly meeting.
Officials with the state Division of Public Health will initiate a contact investigation and reach out to any person who may have come into contact with this individual, according to CBJ.
The Division of Public Health will notify and isolate more people as appropriate.
