A grand jury indicted a 19-year-old Juneau resident Feb. 19 for sexually abusing a 14-year-old person.
Devon Rivera faces second-degree sexual abuse of a minor and third-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance for distributing marijuana to a person under 19, according to a grand jury indictment signed by Juneau District Attoney James Scott.
Both charges stem from events in October, and both are class B felonies punishable up to 99 years in prison.
Rivera also faces charges for second-degree burglary and second-degree theft, according to the indictment. Both charges are class C felonies that carry up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $50,000.
Rivera faced a misdemeanor charge in January for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to CourtView. He also faced eight misdemeanor charges and one felony charge in 2015.
He is scheduled to appear in court March 14 before Judge Louis Menedez for an omnibus hearing.
