A 55-year-old Juneau man has been sentenced in U.S. District Court for distributing child pornography.
On Wednesday afternoon, U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler announced in a prepared statement that Steven Raymond Foster was sentenced to 78 months in prison for a single count of distributing child pornography.
After being released from jail, Foster will be on probation for 30 years.
In court, assistant U.S. Attorney Jack Schmidt said Foster was identified through an FBI investigation that tracked users of a peer-to-peer file-sharing service used to spread child pornography.
In an interview, Foster admitted downloading images and using the program to transmit them to others. Foster admitted he knew it was illegal but didn’t expect anyone to come looking for him.
