A sunny Thursday generated the warmest day so far this year in the capital city, with the official measuring point at Juneau International Airport reaching 80 degrees.
The measurement was taken by the National Weather Service, which has kept records at the airport since 1943.
While well above normal, Thursday’s high temperature wasn’t a record. The record high for the date is 85, set in 2013.
Temperatures Friday and over the weekend are expected to be cooler and near average as cloudy conditions and showers move into the Juneau area.
