At 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, a woman arrived in the emergency room at Bartlett Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound to her right leg.
Officers from the Juneau Police Department arrived soon afterward and spoke to the woman, a 23-year-old Juneau resident. She reported that she had accidentally shot herself in the leg while she was alone in her vehicle that morning.
Hospital spokesperson Katie Bausler said the woman was treated and released.
Police seized the firearm that was located in the woman’s vehicle as evidence, and the investigation is ongoing.
