The runaway teen who police asked the public’s help locating Thursday has reached out to a guardian and is reportedly safe.
The Juneau Police Department sent out a press release Friday stating that Trinity Hale, 17, contacted JPD and told them she is safe and staying with friends in the Anchorage area. Thursday, a JPD crime analyst noticed Hale’s last check-in was reaching six weeks and grew concerned about her well-being.
Hale ran away from her Juneau home in March, JPD Lt. Kris Sell said. Police know Hale has family ties in Anchorage and the Wasilla area and also sent notices to those police departments for information on the runaway teen.
Police said they are still accepting tips about Hale’s condition. People with information can contact the department at 586-0600, and ask to speak directly to JPD Officer Blain Hatch, who is collecting information about the case.
