Alaska’s First City saw a record amount of rain on Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, 5.38 inches of rain was measured at Ketchikan Airport, besting the old record of 4.52 inches, set on that date in 1958.
So far this month, Ketchikan’s airport has seen 25.03 inches of rain. According to information from the National Climatic Data Center, Ketchikan averages 19.22 inches of rain in the entire month of October.
