Learn how to contra dance this Saturday

A New England Barn Dance will take place Saturday, Sept. 16 at St. Anne’s Parish Center at Fifth and Gold Streets downtown.

Full Circle will play from 7:30 to 11 p.m., and Susie Kendig will teach and prompt the contra dances.

Beginners are welcome and are invited to learn the basics at 7:30. Partners are not necessary. Wear cool, comfortable clothes and bring clean, flat-soled shoes.

Cost is $10 for the public, $5 for students through age 25. Barn dances are sponsored by the Juneau International Folkdancers. For more information, call 586-1787.
