ANCHORAGE — Officials say a light earthquake rattled Southeast Alaska Wednesday morning but there were no immediate reports of damage.
The Alaska Earthquake Center say the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7 and was centered 74 miles east of Yakutat at a depth of about 9 miles.
The U.S. Geological Survey put the magnitude at 4.4.
The center recorded the shaking at 5:25 a.m. It says the quake was felt in the communities of Haines and Yakutat.
