A group of Juneau residents is joining a national movement, starting tonight.
The first meeting of the Juneau chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is taking place at 6 p.m. Thursday. The location of the meeting will be given out to those who RSVP at https://act.everytown.org/event/moms-demand-action-event/14178.
The group is not only for mothers or parents. The organization works to bring people together to help reduce gun violence through advocacy and education. People can find out more at the organization’s Facebook page, Moms Demand Action — AK.
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a national organization founded in 2012 in response to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. There are chapters in all 50 states. The group supports the Second Amendment but believes in common-sense solutions that can help decrease the spread of gun violence nationwide.
