Some Juneau residents felt rumbles Saturday morning from a 4.7 magnitude earthquake west of Elfin Cove.
The Alaska Earthquake Center reported the quake at a depth of 5.5 miles occurring at 7:23 a.m.
The U.S Geological Survey placed the epicenter of the quake slightly more than 55 miles west of Elfin Cove and about 125 miles west of Juneau. More than two dozen smaller quakes have occurred in the region over the last two weeks.
There are no tsunami warnings, advisories, watches or threats issued following the earthquake, according to the U.S. Tsunami Warning Center.
