Police say no one was injured and a suspect was arrested after a gun was fired Monday evening in an apartment complex.
Cain Inskeep Melton, 35, was charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons following an investigation, according to Juneau Police Department. Melton was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and held without bail.
Police responded at 6:08 p.m. to a report of a gunshot in the 5000 block of Glacier Highway. The complainant reported the gun was fired after an argument between residents of the apartments, according to police. The shot was allegedly fired from inside an apartment and through the apartment’s door.
JPD obtained search warrants for the apartment where the gun was believed to be fired and two guns were found inside. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the incident, according to police.
